KC Cast is a Kansas City area local music podcast. On our show you will find interviews, reviews and of course lots of music. Local bands, submit your mp3s now to promote your music.
I’m gonna start doing this occasionally. Just picking a subject pertaining to local music and ranting about it.
Now, on to the bitching. I am directly ragging on venues in K.C, namely The Beaumont Club. I have been jaded by going out of town lately to The Slowdown in Omaha and The Pageant in St. Louis and seeing what a good venue looks like. Hopefully someone will put a place like this in the new power and light district or something and give me a reason to stop complaining.
Feel free to comment and let me know what you think of my rant. Even better, record your own. Just go to cinch.blogtalkradio.com and follow the instructions then send us the link to your podcast. If your rant is solid, we’ll put it up on kccast.
Update:
Odd that I would be bitching about The Beaumont today and then this little tidbit comes out of the star.
“My goal is to revitalize the Beaumont Club,” Lunkwicz says. “Because there ain’t no party like a Beaumont party because a Beaumont party don’t stop.”
I know I can’t stop partying.. the dirty bathrooms and skeezy drunks I saw last night will keep me going for at least a week.
Stemming from former bands such as The Black Water, Sky Burial, Sister Mary Rotten Crotch among others, American Catastrophe explores the americana, the rural grit, the murderer and the romantic. A world of the seedy where one can die choking on the dove of peace or be beaten to death by a bouquet of roses. American Catastrophe has most commonly been described as “Dark Americana” and have shared the stage with the likes of Slim Cessna’s Auto Club, Munly and the Lee Lewis Harlots, The Reverend Glasseye, Humanwine, The Veils, The Ponys and many more. Their first album “Excerpts from the Broken Bone Choir” has received excellent reviews from Pitchfork, popmatters, AMG, among others; debuted on the CMJ charts at 166 and has received international radio play.
Recently signed to oxblood records.
