Congrats to all the winners… especially Sicadis.. way to clean up guys!
Sorry for a lack of music.. that’s kind of why I’m posting.
We currently have an active audience of about 1100 people every month listening to the cast. But we haven’t had a good influx of new music lately and we need your help.
Bands, send us your music.. as much or as little as you want kccast.com/submit. Then spread the word around to your fellow local bands. Over the next week going into the new year I would like to get at least 30 new songs for the show. That outta last us for a couple of months.
Take the opportunity to send in your music whenever you are promoting a show so we can get it out there and let people know about your gig.
Venues, stay on the ball yourselves and send us some music from bands that are playing shows that you want to promote (with their permission of course) it doesn’t even matter if it is a band or a song that we have played before.. if they have a show coming up, people need to know what they sound like to decide if they want to go or not. We will be working on some more tools that will take that idea a step further in the new year but I’ll babble more about that later.
For now…
Rat out,
Rat
Our friends over at heavyfrequency.com have released their rules and ballot for nominating musicians in this year’s Heavy Frequency Awards.
Go and nominate your favorite metal musicians now.
If you don’t know names to nominate individuals you could look them up… or just nominate yourself for Best guitarist.

Songs About Escapism (ie: drugs, kansas city): 4

They say the camera adds 10 pounds.. I say it adds 200 pounds.. of stupid and akward. Judge for yourself. Let me know what you think of my on camera genius.
Thanks again to Mitch and Jordan for having me on and fighting the good fight for the local scene. Check out all their interviews at kcanthem.tv
The Architects are back in the studio again and have begun to blog about it on their myspace. We’ll see how long the bloggin lasts.
So, it has been a good long while- too long really, since we last spoke about the happenings here at Amalgamated Architects Ventures Inter-Global HQ.
What has been going on with us since fucking february 2007 has been writing..there has been a shitpile of writing. Writing songs, writing music, writing eulogies for the dead trends of Indie Rock and writing elegies on the churchyards of the temples of rock and roll.
Whatever that means… read the rest here.
Check out our interview with The Architects from a few months back.
So I wanted to vote for the Pitch Local Music awards. But the pitch wants my phone number… why I ask?
I suppose I could ask them myself directly, but where would be the fun in that. Their privacy policy says they won’t sell your info, and the phone number could be just a measure to keep people from voting more than a few times, but still… it just seems fishy. Though we have had our own problems with people cheating the system on our top five voting, I would never ask for a phone number.
It’s just too spammy.
No episode this week but there is this giant ass poll. These are all the bands we have played since the last Top Five show. This is how we will do it from now on. Every 4 shows you guys will vote on your favorite song out of the 20 that have been played.
Voting is now closed. Listen this Thursday to see who made it in to the top five.
